Privacy Policy

CleanMate is designed to help users manage device storage and maintain device performance. All processing occurs primarily on the device.

CleanMate is designed to help users manage device storage and maintain device performance. To provide these features, the app may access limited device-related information and certain storage data on your device. All processing occurs primarily on the device.

Information We Access

To provide its core features, CleanMate may access certain categories of information related to your device and app usage. This information is used solely to operate and improve the application.

This may include:

  • Device Details – such as device model, operating system version, language settings, and general device configuration. These details help ensure the app works properly across different devices.
  • Usage and Diagnostics Data – information related to how the app operates, such as crash reports, performance logs, and feature usage statistics. This data helps us improve stability and reliability.
  • Storage Information – file and directory information on your device that allows CleanMate to identify temporary files, unused files, or leftover files that may be reviewed for optional cleanup.

Your Rights and Controls

Users have control over how their information is handled and may exercise certain privacy rights depending on their location.

You may manage permissions through your device settings at any time, including storage permissions used by CleanMate. If permissions are removed, some features may no longer function fully.

Residents of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which may include the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete personal data, as well as the right to object to certain data processing.

Residents of California may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to request access to certain information about how data is used and the right to request deletion of personal data where applicable.

Requests related to privacy rights may be submitted through the contact information provided in this policy.

Storage Access and All Files Permission

CleanMate may request "All Files Access" to support its core storage management features.

Some temporary or leftover files may be stored in directories that cannot be accessed through standard Android storage APIs. For example, Android's MediaStore typically provides access only to media files such as photos, videos, and audio. In addition, newer versions of Android may restrict access to certain directories, including folders such as /Android/data.

With All Files Access permission, CleanMate can read directory information so that the app can identify and display removable files for user review, including temporary files, residual files left after uninstalling apps, outdated APK installers, crash logs, advertising cache files, and empty folders.

All scanning activities occur locally on the device, and users decide whether any files are removed.

How Information Is Used

Information accessed by CleanMate is used for the following purposes:

  • To provide core features, such as identifying temporary or unused files and displaying storage information to help users manage device space.
  • To maintain app stability, including diagnosing technical issues and improving compatibility with different Android devices.
  • To analyze usage trends, which helps improve functionality and user experience.
  • To support advertising services, which may display ads within the application.

CleanMate uses information only for purposes related to operating and improving the app.

Data Protection and Retention

CleanMate is designed to minimize data collection and handle information responsibly. Technical and usage information may be retained only as long as necessary to support app functionality, improve performance, or comply with legal requirements.

Appropriate safeguards are used to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Children's Privacy

CleanMate is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that information from a minor has been collected unintentionally, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.
